Here's the first post at the new Dragon blog. Dig right in!

  1. Fish,

Thanks for setting this website up. Also Bison, thanks for keeping things going. What a change technology allows for us these days. I remember doing cut and paste, literally, to create the Dragon newsletters back in the 80's. It was extremely time consuming not to mention expensive printing and mailing.

  2. QL 1, Bob. You've just handed me a box of crayons, though at the moment I'm not sure what to color, so best wait for that picture to present itself. Many years and more miles since the Hog Log, the last common avenue we had to simply air out. As Kelly has already said, kudos to you for jump-starting the fire (and to Bison for fanning earlier embers). Warm regards all around, Babymac

  5. Blondie, I still show you as a Nat'l War College kind of guy. I'm guessing you've moved on. Want to give us an update?

I'm hanging out in Deadwood SD today. We have the state CAP conference here and since I am their leader, guess I needed to be here. Now if only some would follow....

  7. I was a proud Dragon crew chief from '88-'92 and have to comment about the remarks on your history about page about the sq deactivating in '85 and reactivating in '91. The sq never deactivated, yet converted from the F-4 to the F-16. Upon my arrival to the 512th AMU in June '88, our F-16s (85 models) already had about 700 flying hours on them.

  8. When the Air Force went to the Objective Wing Concept (fly and fight together) in 91, myself and about 330 other enlisted personnel became part of the Dragon family overnight, the commander at that time was LTCol Ed Whalen (call sign whales). I was the 1st Sgt and boy did we have fun, I believe it was quite the shock to the small group of enlisted and the pilots to have all of us together. We managed and I truly believe we had a great outfit! "ONCE A DRAGON ALWAYS A DRAGON" SMSGT Bryan Townley USAF Retired

  9. I was at Ramstein from '90 to '92.
I was an AGE mech when we got transferred into the 512th.
    IT WAS A BLAST!
Does ANYONE remember the barbeques behind the AGE SHOP?
    Yes, That was ME!
